From Pratt to KC: My Journey to Building Summit Phone Repair

Growing up in the small town of Pratt, Kansas, I always had a passion for technology. As a kid, I loved taking things apart just to see how they worked, then putting them back together again—sometimes better than before. This curiosity never left me, and it’s what ultimately led me to where I am today: building Summit Phone Repair from the ground up in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

My repair journey started with iCracked, a company that trained me and gave me my first shot at fixing phones. I’ll never forget that first repair—an iPhone 4. The moment I saw the broken device spring back to life, I was hooked. After iCracked was acquired, I knew I wanted to keep repairing phones, but this time on my own terms. That’s when the idea for Summit Phone Repair was born in 2022.

I didn’t just want to fix phones; I wanted to make technology repair accessible to everyone. I’m a firm believer in the Right to Repair movement, which empowers people to fix their own devices and reduces e-waste. Every repair we do at SPR helps keep another piece of technology out of a landfill, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

It hasn’t been an easy road, but it’s been worth it. From achieving WISE Certification to earning BBB accreditation, SPR has grown into something I’m truly proud of. I’ve built a reputation for quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. But the heart of this business will always be the belief that “tech should be for everyone.”

Looking ahead, I dream of expanding SPR into a fleet of technicians offering same-day repairs and training others to join the repair industry. Technology is constantly evolving, and I want SPR to evolve with it, making sure we’re always here to support our customers and their devices.
